Mastering Golf Etiquette: Essential Do's and Don'ts on the Course for an Enjoyable Round of Golf

We want everyone to have a good time while playing golf. That includes the people using our Maybe Par Game cards on the course and those that aren't. It is important to understand the amount of time, money and energy that is put into golf courses. We want to ensure that there is no damage to the golf property or its belongings.


We also understand that pace of play is a big issue within the golf community. Golf clubs need pace to be on time to ensure everyone is moving smoothly on the course in a safe and fun environment. Golf can be long as it is. Let's not make it longer by going outside the Maybe Par rule book. So here is a list of dos and don'ts when playing The Game:

Here are a list of do's and don'ts when it comes to playing Maybe Par: The Game:


Do:

-Respect the course: Always repair your divots, and ball marks, and rake the sand traps after use

-Keep up with the pace of play: Move efficiently and keep up with the group ahead of you.

-Let faster groups play through If your group is holding up the group behind you, allow them to play through.

-Be aware of your surroundings: Look out for other players on the course and give them plenty of space.



-Be mindful of safety: Don't swing your club until you are sure that no one is in your range, and always yell "fore" if you hit an errant shot that might hit someone.

-Use the cards as tools to improve and enjoy the game more

-Follow the rules: Abide by the rules and regulations of the golf course, including cart paths and other designated areas

-Have fun and enjoy the beauty of the course and the kinship of friends

-Don't play too slowly: Keep the pace of play moving efficiently. If your group is playing too slowly, let faster groups play through.

-Don't take a bunch of time trying to decide how to play a card. Read the description and complete the task around the given area. If there is confusion, let the group vote and proceed.

-Never use the cards in any way that could damage the course

-Don't hit into the group ahead of you and never take a chance on if they are "far enough ahead."

-Don't drive carts recklessly: Drive the golf cart responsibly and stick to designated cart paths.




-Don't litter: Dispose of trash properly and keep the course clean. One of the best parts of golf is seeing the course in mint condition

-No matter if you are playing at a country club or a local municipal course, make sure we respect everyone working and involved

 

Maybe Par: The Game is here to help golf not hurt it. So make sure when playing the game to follow all rules of the course as well as the rules stated above. In doing so, there will be more safety and less grief overplaying. If there are any disputes between rules when playing Maybe Par: The Game, have the group vote on the overall outcome or verdict. And of course, enjoy yourself and grow the game of golf!
